I’ll be honest: I never imagined myself writing a blog. But somewhere between helping students, guiding real estate clients, raising two daughters, exploring Florida, traveling, and navigating all the unexpected twists of everyday life, I realized something:

I genuinely enjoy sharing information, telling stories, and connecting with people. And for me, writing has become a little bit therapeutic.

That’s how Real Estate + Real Life (and Me) with Amber Lea was born.

Yes, we’re going to talk about real estate—but this won’t be another blog filled with confusing terms, generic market updates, or constant sales pitches. Real estate is about so much more than houses. It’s about people, new chapters, big decisions, fresh starts, and finding the place where your life can unfold.

After all, new beginnings start with more than a set of keys.

Here, you’ll find helpful and easy-to-understand information for buyers, sellers, homeowners, investors, and anyone considering a move to Florida. I’ll share practical advice, lessons from the real estate world, local Tampa Bay favorites, Florida lifestyle tips, community happenings, and a behind-the-scenes look at what it’s really like to help people through some of life’s biggest transitions.

But real estate is only part of my story.

I’ve spent more than 24 years in education, supporting students, families, and fellow educators. I’m a mom of two daughters, a proud Missouri girl, a Kansas Jayhawk, a Kansas City Chiefs fan, a traveler, a dog mom, and someone who believes life is usually better near the water—w
ith good music, good people, and maybe a glass of wine at sunset.

So, we’ll talk about real life too.

The joyful moments. The difficult seasons. Family, travel, careers, community, motherhood, relationships, personal growth, and all the beautifully imperfect moments in between. Sometimes the posts will be helpful. Sometimes they’ll be thoughtful. Sometimes they’ll simply be fun—and I can almost guarantee there will be a little sass along the way.

My goal is simple: to create a space that feels genuine, relatable, and useful. A place where you might learn something new, discover a local favorite, feel encouraged, laugh a little, or realize you aren’t alone in whatever chapter you’re navigating.

Because life doesn’t fit neatly into one category—and neither do I.
